Big news has come out regarding school students. District Magistrate Ankurjit Singh has declared a half-day holiday for all schools in the urban area of Nawanshahr on Friday, November 28th. According to the orders issued by the administration, all government and private schools within the city limits will be closed after 12 noon.
This decision was taken in view of the district-level Nagar Kirtan being organized to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The District Magistrate stated that this holiday has been declared keeping in mind traffic management, security arrangements, and the convenience of students, so that there is no inconvenience during the event. The Nagar Kirtan is being organized by the Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society and the Management Committee of Gurdwara Manji Sahib, in collaboration with religious, social, business, and educational institutions in the city.
