Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj, the acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar Singh Sahib of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, met with the family of the 13-year-old girl who was murdered in Jalandhar recently and shared his grief. Attending the Akhand Path Sahib Bhog and final prayer held by the family at their home, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh personally prayed for the girl’s soul to rest in peace.
During the ceremony, Jathedar Gadgaj inquired about the incident from the family and assured them that Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the entire Sikh community stand with them in this difficult time. He stated that this was a diabolical act by the accused and that no amount of condemnation would suffice. He stated that this incident is extremely tragic and heartbreaking, as the 13-year-old girl was brutally murdered.
Jathedar Gadgaj stated that when the family was searching for the girl, they informed the police, and the police officers returned without thoroughly investigating the accused’s house. Later, when more stringent measures were taken, the girl’s body was found in the accused’s home. He stated that the police officers involved, who initially showed negligence in investigating this case, should be dismissed, as there should be no delay in this matter.
Jathedar Gadgaj stated that the accused is a savage in society and deserves the death penalty according to the law. He stated that if such savages, regardless of their state or religion, are hanged, such sins will be eradicated from the world. He stated that he stands with the family in their fight for justice. Jathedar Gadgaj appealed to the Sikh community to take special care of such savages in society.
