The Airports Authority of India has introduced seven new services with the objective of enhancing passenger amenities across airports nationwide. These services were inaugurated by the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, from Rajkot International Airport. In line with this initiative, modern amenities—such as a Kids Zone, a ‘Flybrary’, and free Wi-Fi—have also been introduced for passengers at the Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji Airport in Adampur. The Kids Zone is designed to accommodate approximately 20 children playing simultaneously, while the Flybrary has been stocked with around 2,000 books made available through a collaboration with the Red Cross.
On this occasion, Adampur MLA Sukhwinder Singh Kotli was present as the Chief Guest, while former MLA Sushil Kumar Rinku conveyed his best wishes. Airport Director Pushpendra Kumar Nirala stated that these facilities would directly benefit approximately 1.75 lakh passengers annually. He further informed that the passenger volume at Adampur Airport is steadily increasing, and a twofold growth is anticipated for the current quarter compared to the previous year. Following the launch of direct flights to Mumbai last year, connecting flight facilities to Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Manchester are now also available. Senior airport officials, along with administrative officers, were present at the event.
