On Wednesday, a speeding motorcyclist met with a severe accident on the Bus Stand flyover. Reports suggest that due to excessive speed, the young man lost control of his bike and crashed into an iron pillar situated on the flyover’s divider. The impact was so forceful that one of the bike’s tires detached and flew a considerable distance away, while the vehicle itself was completely wrecked. Following the crash, the motorcyclist collapsed unconscious in the middle of the road; this disrupted traffic for a period, causing significant inconvenience to commuters attempting to pass through the area. Upon receiving news of the incident, the traffic police rushed to the scene and arranged for the injured youth to be transported to a hospital via ambulance for medical treatment.
An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from the traffic police, who arrived at the site, stated that they had received information regarding the accident on the flyover while on duty near Satluj Chowk. Preliminary investigations have not yet clarified whether the bike crashed directly into the pillar or if the accident occurred after colliding with another vehicle. The matter has been reported to the police at the Bus Stand Outpost, and an investigation into the entire incident is currently underway.
