“Don’t come to meet me at night; the village is under watch”—In-laws send daughter-in-law away with her lover; a shocking case.

Date:

The lines from singer Babbu Maan’s song—“Don’t come to meet me at night; the village is under watch”—seemed to ring true when, under the cover of darkness, two unidentified youths who had come to meet a married woman were caught by the locals. Both were apprehended and severely beaten. This intriguing incident took place in the village of Bhandal Bet in the Kapurthala district, where a married woman had developed a romantic relationship with a young man through social media. The woman’s husband currently resides in Mumbai.

It is reported that late at night, as soon as neighbors spotted the two unidentified youths near the house, they raised an alarm. Subsequently, other villagers gathered at the scene and overpowered the two youths. They were first subjected to a severe beating, and later, during interrogation, one of the youths admitted that he had come to meet the woman, while the other was his friend. When journalists who arrived at the scene spoke to the youths, they provided details regarding the entire incident from their perspective.

It is reported that the woman’s in-laws decided to send her away with her lover in the presence of several village dignitaries and the police. Written consent regarding this decision was obtained from both parties involved. It also came to light that the young man in question is already married. When questioned about this, his response was astonishing. Although the young man has acknowledged the woman on camera, it remains to be seen what the reaction of his first wife will be.
