A heated argument erupted between the SHO (Station House Officer) and an ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspector) at the Ferozepur City Police Station. A video of this altercation has surfaced, showing the ASI arguing with the SHO, who is seated inside a vehicle. During the incident, another police officer is seen grabbing the ASI by the arm and leading him away. Currently, both the ASI and the SHO have stated their intention to escalate this matter to their senior officers.
Specifically, ASI Raman explained that he had apprehended an accused individual in connection with a certain case. While he was doing so, SHO Kashmir Singh entered his room and began demanding that he release the accused. In response, ASI Raman stated that he was currently interrogating the suspect. He alleged that the SHO forcibly took the individual away. During the scuffle, his nameplate was also broken. He remarked that he had joined the police force to ensure justice for the public, yet he had faced humiliation right within the confines of his own police station. The ASI asserted that he would bring this matter to the attention of higher-ranking officials.
On the other hand, SHO Kashmir Singh stated that a case involving a physical altercation had been registered at the City Police Station, in which charges were filed against seven individuals. He noted that during the investigation of this case, the accused individuals were found to be innocent. He alleged that the ASI had behaved disrespectfully toward him and vowed to take appropriate disciplinary action against him for treating a superior officer in such a manner. He added that he would submit a written report regarding this dispute to his senior officers.
