A case has come to light involving the sexual exploitation of a young woman—a tenant—who was lured with a false promise of marriage. The repercussions of this case reached as far as Bihar, from where a ‘Zero FIR’ was received, creating a stir within the corridors of the Ludhiana Police. The police have registered a case against the accused, Manovar, and have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.
According to the information received, the victim was residing in a rented accommodation in Ludhiana. She became acquainted with a young man named Manovar, who lived in her neighborhood, through their shared workplace and proximity of residence. Manovar gradually ensnared her in a romantic trap and promised to marry her. It is alleged that, under the pretext of marriage, Manovar frequently visited her rented home and engaged in sexual intercourse with her on multiple occasions. Believing him to be her future husband, the young woman remained silent; however, when she pressed him to fulfill his promise of marriage, the accused reneged on his word and flatly refused.
Undeterred by the betrayal, the victim did not give up. She approached the Women’s Police Station in Kishanganj, Bihar, where the police registered a ‘Zero FIR’ (No. 03) on October 16, 2025. Subsequently, the Kishanganj Police transferred the case to the Ludhiana Police via official email.
Upon receiving the email, the Ludhiana Police immediately registered a case against the accused, Manovar, under Section 69 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita). Police officials have stated that further action regarding the case of fraud and sexual exploitation is currently underway, and the accused is expected to be apprehended shortly.
