According to reports, the fire broke out at a textile factory located on the Ludhiana-Delhi Highway following a short circuit caused by a loud explosion in an electrical transformer situated outside the premises.
Employees working on-site at the time managed to save their lives by fleeing the scene; within moments, ferocious flames engulfed the entire factory. According to sources, the facility is a textile manufacturing unit, and large rolls of fabric were present on the premises. The flames were further fueled by cardboard packaging materials stored on-site, resulting in a massive and destructive blaze. Upon receiving information about the incident, seven fire tenders rushed to the scene. After a strenuous effort, the firefighting team successfully brought the fire under control by dousing it with powerful jets of water.
