The hearing scheduled for Tuesday in the ongoing defamation case against MP Kangana Ranaut, being heard in a Bathinda court, has been adjourned until April 28. The hearing could not take place as the presiding judge was on leave. Raghbir Singh Behniwal, the counsel for Mata Mahinder Kaur, stated that the court was scheduled to record the testimonies of two witnesses—Surjit Singh Phool and Gurpreet Singh—but the proceedings could not be completed due to the judge’s absence.
He further informed that he had filed an application in court seeking the impoundment of Kangana Ranaut’s passport; a hearing on this application was also scheduled but could not be held. The next date for the hearing has been fixed for April 28. It is pertinent to note that during the farmers’ protests in Delhi, MP Kangana Ranaut had made objectionable remarks against Mata Mahinder Kaur, following which a defamation case was filed against her in court, and hearings on the matter have been ongoing.
