In the era of Digital India, the Haryana Police has launched an unprecedented campaign to curb cybercrime and the rising obscenity on social media. Within the last three months, the police’s Cyber Cell has undertaken a major cleanup of the digital landscape by successfully blocking or having deleted 6,083 objectionable URLs.
Conducted under the strict directives of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and the supervision of Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur, the primary objective of this campaign is to rein in the social filth and misleading information spreading within society. The police have clarified that this action will continue against any online content that infringes upon the dignity of women or pushes the youth towards criminal activity. Through round-the-clock monitoring, the Haryana Police’s cyber teams identified those links that were disrupting the peace and decency of society.
