On this occasion, Secretary of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Mr. Pratap Singh and Manager of Takht Sahib Mr. Malkit Singh also presented a turban. Meanwhile, the Granthi Singhs at Takht Sahib also presented a Siropa to Singh Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh.
Appealed to the Sikh community to unite
Meanwhile, Singh Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh appealed to the entire Sikh community to unite under one flag in view of the current religious situation. He thanked the ten Patshahis and Guru Granth Sahib for giving him the honour of looking after Takht Sahib on behalf of the Panth.
He said that it is his good fortune that he has got such a great service by being born in a simple Sikh family. He said that he started his life as a Pathi Singh and then chose the service of religious preaching and he will continue to serve the Guru Panth as a preacher.
‘Today there is an atmosphere of religious differences among the Sikhs’
Talking about the religious, social and political issues facing the Panth, Giani Kuldeep Singh said that most of our issues have arisen due to separation from the tradition of the Guru. It is a matter of concern that today there is an atmosphere of religious differences among the Sikhs.
He said that factional divisions and ideological differences among us have created big divisions. Due to the lack of able religious and political leadership, instead of solving the issues by sitting together, the tendency to belittle each other is increasing. In such difficult times, there is a need to create opportunities to meet with faith in the Guru.
Sikh community is a victim of major attacks – Giani Kuldeep Singh
He said that politically the Sikh community is a victim of major attacks, where on one hand an atmosphere of fear has been created among the minorities in the country, on the other hand, by using political power, black laws and sections like UAPA and NSA have been imposed against the Sikhs and the youth have been kept in jails for a long time.
The rulers of the country have failed to provide justice even after 40 years of the 1984 Sikh massacre. Due to the disintegration of Sikh political power, Sikh prisoners lodged in jails for decades do not get any bail, rather Sikhs are being harassed by giving long holidays to some false anti-Sikh deraders every day.
Expressed concern over the migration of Sikh population
Giani Kuldeep Singh said that the Sikh population of Punjab is being forced to migrate from here and in return there is a deep conspiracy to make Sikhs a minority in Punjab by settling a large number of non-Punjabi population.
He said that the leaders of Punjab are concerned about a few thousand votes of a particular camp or immigrants, but they do not count the votes of lakhs of Sikhs living here. The main reason for this is that we are very badly divided.
Also gave a statement on drug addiction
Giani Kuldeep Singh said that from the social point of view, today the Sikh community has become a victim of many serious diseases, in which our youth are dying due to going on the suicidal path of drug addiction. He said that many governments have changed in the state, but instead of stopping, the prevalence of drug addiction is continuously increasing and thousands of young boys and girls have died due to its grip.
Giani Kuldeep Singh also expressed deep concern over religious conversion and said that to solve all these problems, an effective religious propagation movement is needed at the grassroots level, which he will start on priority basis with the help of Sikh saints, great men, sects, intellectuals and scholars.
We have to take guidance from Guru Sikhs: Giani Kuldeep Singh
He said that we have to take guidance from the great Guru Sikhs who lived Sikhism with their mind, words and deeds in turbulent times and adopt a life like them.
Recalling the great men who built the Sikh character, he said that today we have great men like Baba Sahib Singh Bedi, Akali Jathedar Phula Singh, Baba Ram Singh, Sant Attar Singh Mastuane Wale, Baba Nand Singh Ji, Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindran Wale, Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindran Wale, Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji Rampur Khede Wale, Baba Daya Singh Ji Sur Singh Wale, Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha, Giani Ditt Singh, Bhai Veer Singh and Prof. Puran Singh. We should enter the field of religious propagation with the life and resolution of such great men.
He said that we respect the life and character of the leaders of the Akali movement of the 20th century more than the current Sikh politicians.
This was said on the decision taken on 2 December
Talking about the decision taken by the Singh Sahibs on 2 December in relation to the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh said that in the light of Gurmat, no tampering can be done with the Hukamnamas issued from Akal Takht Sahib and the same applies to the Hukamnamas issued on 2 December without any exception.
