Private facilities will be available for free in government hospitals: Punjab government will start a pilot project, will hand over hospitals to private service providers

Date:

The Punjab government has made a strategy to provide better medical facilities like private hospitals to the people in government hospitals of Punjab for free. Under this, the government is going to start a pilot project in the coming days. Under this scheme, the services of private service providers will be taken in government hospitals.

That is, the entire staff working in government hospitals will be of service providers. During this time, whatever services they will provide to the people, like OPD, giving injections, doing operations and other medical services, the service provider will be paid for that.

An investment of Rs 11,500 crore is expected in this project. According to Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, work is going on on this project and it will be fully completed in the next two to three months.

Big government hospitals will also be included in the project

According to the department’s plan, if there are four hospitals in a district and each hospital has 100 or more beds, then they will be included in this project. Government meetings have started regarding this project.

Apart from this, two new private medical colleges are being built in the state, and one more private hospital is proposed. At the same time, construction work of three government medical colleges will also start. Government medicines will be made available to patients free of cost.

Preparation of mobile Aam Aadmi clinic

The government is preparing to start “Mobile Aam Aadmi Clinic” for primary care health services. The list of free medicines under secondary health services has been finalized, which will be displayed in hospitals. Apart from this, four to five centers will be set up across Punjab for knee replacement, heart and brain surgery.

Along with this, mother and child centers will be set up at a distance of every five to ten kilometers. Emergency services will also be improved at the district and sub-division level. Facilitation centers will be set up in government hospitals, where patients will get facilities like private hospitals. Here, complete assistance will be given from making the prescription of the patient to taking him to the doctor.
