Amritsar | Western Disturbance (WD) has given relief from heat to the people of Punjab. The average maximum temperature in Punjab increased by 2.1 degrees Celsius, but despite this it remained 3.1 degrees Celsius below normal.
Even today, orange and yellow alerts have been issued in 16 districts of Punjab regarding storm, strong winds and rain. Similar weather is expected in Punjab for the next 6 days.
The highest temperature in Punjab was recorded in Bathinda at 39.3 degrees Celsius. The temperature in most districts of the state was between 33 to 36 degrees Celsius.
Amritsar recorded 33.5 degrees Celsius, Patiala 35.5 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 34.6 degrees Celsius and Bathinda 39.3 degrees Celsius. Weather Department Alert
According to the warning issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of strong winds (40-60 kmph) and rain with thunderstorms in many districts of Punjab in the next five days.
May 4: Orange alert is issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar. Whereas, Yellow alert is issued in Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Patiala, Mansa, Fazilka, Muktsar and Bathinda districts.
May 5: Orange alert is issued in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and Rupnagar. Whereas, Yellow alert is issued in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Bathinda and Mansa.
6-7 May: Yellow alert has been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala.
