Punjab Water Resources Minister Barindra Kumar Goyal said that the Punjab government will fully compensate the flood-affected people for the loss of crops and other things. Orders for special Girdawari have been issued in Sultanpur and Bhulath tehsils for compensation of crops.
While visiting the areas affected by the rising water level in the villages of Sultanpur Lodhi, Minister Goyal said that the Punjab government is fully alert and the condition of dams and rivers is being monitored 24 hours a day. Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, Aam Aadmi Party’s constituency in-charge and Chairman of Nagar Sudhar Trust Kapurthala Sajjan Singh Cheema and other officials were also present with him.
Goyal said that 8 cabinet ministers have been deputed by the Punjab government to monitor the relief work in the water-affected areas, who will visit different districts and reach the people directly. He also distributed dry ration by going to the affected village Sangra via boats.
