Railways has started the process of building railway overbridges and railway underbridges at many important places to solve the traffic problem in Rupnagar district. It is worth noting that due to the absence of overbridges at railway crossings near Mianpur, Bunga Sahib and Patalpuri Sahib, people were facing traffic jams and problems in commuting for a long time. Keeping this problem in mind, MLA of Rupnagar assembly constituency Dinesh Chadha brought this matter to the attention of MP Malvinder Singh Kang. After this, MP Kang took action and sent a special memorandum to the Railway Ministry on January 28.
According to the letter issued by the Railways, the work of railway overbridges at Mianpur (crossing number C-39) and Bunga Sahib (crossing number C-60) has been approved. At Ghanauli (crossing number B-52) and Patalpuri (crossing number C-61A), the Railways is conducting a feasibility study in collaboration with the Public Works Department of the Punjab Government. Technical feasibility study is underway for a railway overbridge or underbridge at Bali Village (Crossing No. C-56). In this way, the long-standing traffic problem of the people of Rupnagar constituency will soon be resolved.
