Blood relations were torn apart in village Rampura of Bhawanigarh when an alleged drug addict nephew killed his handicapped uncle by hitting him on the head with some iron object. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot with the weapon. Police have registered a case of murder against the accused and started investigation.
According to the registered case, Govinder Singh son of Bhura Singh resident Chattha Hall resident village Rampura told the police in his statement that he lived with his brother in the house of Pavitar Singh son Jagjit Singh in Rampur. Pavitar Singh was handicapped in both legs and one of his hands was also not working properly. Govinder Singh told that Pavitar Singh had made him and his brother brothers and they lived together.
According to the complaint, Manveer Singh (30), son of Pavitar Singh’s brother Harkirat Singh, often used to come to take money from Pavitar Singh to fulfill his drug addiction and used to quarrel for money. Govinder said that when Manveer came to his uncle Pavitar Singh’s room on Friday morning, he heard loud noises from the room and ran towards the room. He saw from the window that Manveer was hitting Pavitar Singh on the head with some iron object. Seeing him coming, the attacker fled from the spot along with the weapon and also took 3-4 mobile phones and cash with him.
Pavitar Singh was taken to a private hospital in Patiala, where he died during treatment on Friday night. On Saturday, Bhawanigarh police station chief Avtar Singh said that the police have registered a case against Manveer Singh on charges of murder. At present, the accused is absconding, who will be arrested soon.
