Faridkot police has arrested 8 accused of a big gang who used to break the shutters of shops and steal. This information was given by Faridkot SP (local) Manvinder Bir Singh during a press conference. According to the information, on the night of 19 and 20 August, an unknown gang of thieves broke the shutters of two shops in Sethiya Wala Mohalla of Faridkot and stole the goods and cash kept inside. An inverter, battery, DVR, an iPhone and cash were stolen from Sheikh Farid Medical Store. An LED and cash were stolen from Ganpati Property Advisor. A case was registered in this regard at Police Station City Faridkot.
He said that the police immediately took action and formed special police teams of Police Station City Faridkot and CIA Staff Faridkot under the supervision of DSP Tarlochan Singh, on the basis of which the police teams immediately started raiding and arrested five members of this gang, William, Zora Baba, Yuvraj Singh, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam, along with a Scorpio car from Dana Mandi Faridkot on the night of August 22, when they were planning to commit theft while riding in a Scorpio car. Along with this, on the basis of interrogation of the arrested accused, their three other accomplices Akash, Amrik Singh and Lovepreet Singh were arrested from Faridkot near Ferozepur Road Sua Bridge with an Innova car.
He said that among them the arrested person is Amrik Singh, who works in destroying junk vehicles, through whom the junk vehicles were provided to this gang for theft and after carrying out the incident, they were returned. He said that initial investigation revealed that this gang was planning to commit more thefts in the city, which has been foiled by the police. Apart from this, police teams have also recovered goods stolen from the shop on the night of 19 and 20 August, an Innova car and sharp weapons used during the theft. During interrogation, it was also revealed that the members of this gang have committed thefts in various districts and several cases have been registered against them in various districts under theft, preparation for robbery, Arms Act and other serious sections. The accused are being produced in the honorable court and remand is being obtained. After obtaining remand, further interrogation of the accused will be done to find out who else was involved with them in this incident and where they used to sell the stolen goods.
