The Punjab government has taken an important decision by taking the difficulties of Divyang employees seriously and keeping in mind their convenience. Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that now clear instructions have been issued to the heads of all government departments that visually impaired and physically disabled employees should be exempted from night duty and no Divyang employee should be made to do night duty.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that in the meetings held with Divyang employees in the past, the issue was raised by the organizations of Divyang employees that visually impaired and physically disabled employees have to face many problems due to night duty. She said that in view of the security and travel related challenges during night duty, this step has been taken from the point of view of human sensitivity and welfare of the employees.
