Seeing the gravity of the situation, the Indian Army took charge and immediately started the rescue operation.
With the promptness of the Army, more than 900 students were evacuated, who were facing difficulty in getting out due to being trapped in buildings and hostels surrounded by water. The Army not only took the students to safe places, but also strengthened the nearby dams and embankments to prevent the flood situation from worsening further. This effort brought relief to the surrounding villages and averted a large scale loss.
