In view of the continuous heavy rains across Punjab and floods in various districts, the Punjab government has declared holidays in all government and private schools of the state till September 3. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students and teachers.
On the other hand, complaints are coming from many parts of Punjab that some private schools are forcibly calling their teachers to school even during the holiday, disregarding the orders of the government. In this regard, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has made it clear through his social media handle to the schools calling teachers to school bypassing the holiday orders that now the district administration will take action.
He has issued clear instructions that if teachers are being forced to attend by any school despite the holidays declared by the government, then strict action will be taken by the concerned district administration in such cases. After this strict stand issued by the Education Minister, this matter has now reached a higher level and the complaints have been brought directly to his notice.
