According to the Meteorological Department, red alert has been issued in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, Patiala and Ropar districts and there is a possibility of change in the mood of the weather after September 3. On the other hand, due to the rain water coming from the upper areas of Himachal Pradesh towards Punjab, an increase in the inflow of water in the Gobind Sagar Lake of Bhakra Dam is being recorded. The water level of Bhakra Dam was recorded at 167.62 feet on Sunday evening. All the four gates of Bhakra Dam are open up to 3-3. At the same time, the water level of Ghaggar river near Cheeka adjoining Punjab and Haryana has reached close to the danger mark.
