The Focal Point police station has registered a case against Karan Singh Chauhan for raping a young woman in a Chandigarh hotel under the pretext of marriage. However, the police are still searching for the accused.
The victim told police that she is a resident of Laxman Nagar, while the accused, Karan Singh, is from Mundia Khurd. The accused lured her with the promise of marriage and took her to a Chandigarh hotel, where he raped her. He repeatedly did this to her. When the matter of marriage came up, the accused flatly refused. She filed a complaint with the Chandigarh police.
The Chandigarh police registered a zero FIR and forwarded it to the Ludhiana police. Police officials then referred the case to the Focal Point police station. The Focal Point police station has now registered a case and begun further investigation.
