Unidentified assailants shot and killed a shopkeeper in Dhulka village, Baba Bakala Sahib subdivision. According to reports, Manjit Singh, who ran a grocery store in Dhulka, was shot in the chest, and died on the spot. The deceased’s son, Lakhwinder Singh, said that shots were fired at the gate of their house last night. The next day, a call was received demanding a ransom of 50 lakh rupees, and today, two motorcycle riders carried out the attack.
Khilchian police station in-charge Avtar Singh, who arrived at the scene, stated that the entire matter is being investigated and action will be taken based on the statements of the family members.
