Encounter in Punjab: Police and criminals exchange gunfire

An encounter broke out between two criminals and police at Daowal Morh in Gurdaspur’s Purana Shala on Monday morning. In police retaliation, both criminals, Naveen and Kush, were injured by gunfire. Both were immediately admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Police recovered two pistols and a grenade from a black bag at the scene. The forensic team and bomb disposal squad sealed the scene and began an investigation. Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Singh personally visited the scene and reviewed the entire case. Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested criminals were also involved in the recent grenade attack on the City Police Station in Gurdaspur. Police are interrogating the accused with this angle in mind. Security has been increased in the entire area, and the police are trying to determine what crime the criminals were planning to commit.
