Police have produced the three accused in the court and obtained four days’ police remand for gang-raping a mother and daughter in the Lohian area after holding the family members hostage at gunpoint.
Investigation has revealed that the accused, Sajjan, Rocky, resident near Jalandhar Public School, Guru Nanak Colony, Ward No. 1, Lohian, Arshpreet Singh alias Arsh, resident of village Poonian, currently resident of Guru Nanak Colony, Ward No. 2, Lohian, and the fourth accused, Rajan alias Rohit, resident of Ward No. 1, Lohian, who is absconding, all work as scrap collectors. Furthermore, all four accused are known for committing robberies and thefts. Specifically, they used to plan to steal the expensive copper wires of a water motor by pretending to be scrap collectors.
During this time, the four men intended to steal motor wheels in Kang Kalan village. However, upon seeing a migrant mother-daughter and their family members in a room, they were distracted. They held the family members hostage and raped the mother and daughter. All of them confessed to the crime before the police. It has also been revealed that all four are drug addicts. All four are between 19 and 22 years old.
