A half-day holiday has been declared in the Pathankot district of Punjab on April 7. This decision has been taken in view of the grand procession (Shobha Yatra) being organized to mark the 490th birth anniversary (Prakash Utsav) of Goswami Shri Guru Nabha Das Maharaj Ji.
Issuing the order, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pallavi stated that this procession is being organized by the Goswami Shri Guru Nabha Das Mahasabha Sewa Samiti, Pathankot. She added that traffic routes would be diverted at several locations across the city during the procession.
Consequently—while respecting the religious sentiments of the public and keeping in mind the convenience and safety of students—all government and private schools and colleges in the district will observe a half-day holiday on April 7, 2026. The administration has appealed to the public to adhere to traffic regulations and extend their cooperation.
