Once again, an incident of firing has been reported in Jandiala Guru, raising questions regarding the state of law and order in Punjab. In this incident, which took place on Verowal Road, two individuals sustained gunshot wounds; one of them is reported to be in critical condition. Both injured victims have been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
**Dispute Over a Transaction of ₹21,000**
The injured victims have been identified as a father and son. According to reports, the attackers fired three to four rounds. During the altercation, one individual sustained two gunshot wounds to the shoulder, while the other was shot once in the thigh. According to the victim’s family, the owner of a grocery store, accompanied by a group of youths, barged into their home and began removing items. A dispute arose over a financial transaction amounting to approximately ₹21,000, during which the attackers suddenly opened fire. Both the father and son were injured in this shooting incident.
**Raids Launched to Apprehend the Accused**
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police immediately rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation. The SHO of Jandiala stated that a dispute had erupted between two parties over payment for grocery supplies, during which one side resorted to firing. Based on the statements provided by the victims, the police have registered an FIR, and teams have launched raids to apprehend the accused individuals.
