BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh launched a scathing attack on the Punjab Police today, alleging that the force has failed to protect the residences of Members of Parliament (MPs) from political goons belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Taking the State DGP to task, Chugh asserted that if the state police are unable to provide security to elected representatives holding constitutional posts, then the time has come for central security forces to take over the role of the Punjab Police.
Chugh alleged that the AAP has completely failed in the state, and due to its unethical and corrupt functioning, several prominent figures have quit the party.
He further stated that even Punjab’s Rajya Sabha MPs have exposed the party’s failures. According to Chugh, under AAP rule, Punjab has turned into a haven for mafias and gangsters, where anti-national forces are operating openly amidst petty political skirmishes.
