Another major political development is set to unfold in Punjab soon, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. According to sources, former Punjab Minister Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon may soon join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It is reported that Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself will formally induct him into the party. However, neither Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon has issued an official statement regarding this matter, nor has any statement been released by the BJP thus far.
It is worth noting that Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon is the brother-in-law of Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal. During his tenure as a minister in Punjab, he held key portfolios such as the Excise Department and the Department of Food and Civil Supplies. In 2024, the Akali Dal expelled Adesh Pratap Kairon from the party on charges of anti-party activities. Subsequently, he joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (Punner Surjit) and was appointed as the observer for the Gurdaspur district. Now, reports suggest that he may soon join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
