Threatening emails sent to several schools in Chandigarh have issued warnings of bomb blasts within the school premises. The emails mention the Haryana Chief Minister’s Office alongside the schools in Chandigarh. Following the receipt of these threats, the police, the Cyber Cell, and security agencies have been placed on high alert.
The emails also contain certain objectionable and inflammatory messages. Furthermore, the correspondence includes a specific threat regarding IED blasts on the Ambala-Delhi railway track, to be carried out by June 6, 2026.
**Security Heightened Following Threats**
According to preliminary information, these threatening emails were sent to multiple schools. The institutions that received the threats include Sacred Heart School, Sant Kabir School, Bhavan Vidyalaya, St. Stephen’s School (Sector 45), St. John’s School (Sector 26), Chitkara International School (Sector 25), and BPS School (Sector 40). Following the receipt of the threats, security arrangements at the concerned schools were significantly bolstered. Teams comprising police personnel, bomb disposal squads, and dog squads conducted thorough searches of the school premises. As of now, no suspicious objects have been recovered from any of the schools.
