Driven by fluctuations in the international market and the ongoing wedding season, gold and silver prices in the bullion market continue to witness a steady upward trend. On Wednesday, the price of 24-carat gold surged to ₹163,700 per 10 grams, while silver was recorded at ₹276 per 10 grams.
According to bullion trader Rajiv Sahdev, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹154,900 on May 11, a figure that rose to ₹163,700 by May 21. Similarly, the price of 22-carat gold climbed from ₹142,400 to ₹148,100. 18-carat gold was recorded at ₹124,200, and 14-carat gold at ₹97,100.
Market experts attribute the sustained rise in gold prices to global economic conditions, fluctuations in the US dollar, and increased buying activity among investors. Meanwhile, silver is also demonstrating consistent strength.
According to traders, further price volatility is possible in the coming days. Despite the rising prices, customer footfall in the market remains steady, driven by the ongoing wedding season.
