A young man employed at Trident died on the spot following a horrific collision between a car and a motorcycle near a drain on Dhilwan Road. According to reports, a car was traveling from Pakkho Kainchiyan towards Tapa Mandi, while the motorcyclist was returning to his village, Dhilwan, after finishing his shift at Trident. The two vehicles collided head-on near the drain.
In the accident, the motorcyclist—identified as Sahajpreet Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh and a resident of Dhilwan village—was thrown into the barbed wire fencing along the roadside. He died instantly after sustaining a severe jaw injury during the fall from his motorcycle. Upon learning of the incident, a large number of locals gathered at the scene. The car driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle.
Police arrived at the scene upon receiving the information and initiated an investigation. The car has been impounded, and a search for the absconding driver is underway. Police Post In-charge Baljit Singh Dhillon stated that the deceased’s body has been moved to the mortuary at Civil Hospital, Barnala, via the ‘Mini Sahara’ ambulance, and further legal proceedings are being carried out.
