As part of the Punjab Police’s ongoing campaign against drugs and the Municipal Council’s initiative to remove illegal encroachments, a Municipal Council team—accompanied by police personnel—carried out an operation today in the Rajnagar/Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar area of Nangal. They used a JCB machine to demolish an illegal structure belonging to an alleged drug smuggler.
Providing details on the matter, Nangal DSP Navinpal Singh Lehal stated that the police are keeping a close watch on individuals linked to drug trafficking. He noted that the Nangal Municipal Council had requested police assistance to demolish an illegal structure and remove an encroachment allegedly created in front of the house of Shiv Kumar (alias Bunty), a resident of Rajnagar, Nangal.
During the process, the police verified Shiv Kumar’s criminal record. The DSP revealed that three cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against the individual, and he has been involved in activities related to drug trafficking. With police support, the Municipal Council team proceeded to demolish the alleged illegal structure today.
