Amid changing weather conditions, cases of Swine Flu (H1N1 influenza) are steadily rising in the district. Out of 385 samples tested so far, 181 have confirmed positive for Swine Flu. Of these, 61 patients are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 118 have recovered.
According to the Health Department’s report, the 181 infected individuals comprise 122 from Dehradun and 59 from other areas; the group includes 95 men and 86 women. Two deaths due to the infection have been recorded so far. Meanwhile, 49 new cases were reported on Wednesday—35 from Dehradun and 14 from other locations—and 26 patients have recovered. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that all hospitals have been placed on high alert, and dedicated wards have been prepared to handle the situation.
Four New COVID-19 Cases Reported
Dehradun: COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the district. On Wednesday, four new cases were detected out of 47 samples tested; three were from Dehradun and one from another area. Four patients have recovered. So far, testing of 226 samples has revealed 34 infections—13 from Dehradun and 21 from other regions. Thirty patients have recovered, while four are undergoing treatment in hospitals in Dehradun and Rishikesh. No deaths due to COVID-19 have been recorded to date.
Six New Dengue Cases Detected: Three from Dehradun, Three from Other Districts
Dehradun: Dengue infections continue to be reported in the district. On Wednesday, six new cases were confirmed; three patients are from Dehradun and three from other districts. The new cases include four women and two men. Geographically, three are residents of Dehradun, one is from Haridwar, and one is from Rudraprayag. All six patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. According to reports, 23,900 samples have been tested for dengue so far, revealing 124 cases. Of these, 60 patients are from Dehradun and 64 are from other districts. While 111 patients have recovered, 13 remain under treatment in hospitals.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, teams comprising ASHA workers and volunteers jointly surveyed 12,107 households. During this process, 88,779 containers were inspected, and 438 tested positive. Cumulatively, 5,204,582 households have been surveyed, and 18,764 positive containers have been recorded.
