Drone movement was observed at Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport in Amritsar around 10 PM on Sunday. Security agencies were immediately alerted, and the airport remained on high alert throughout the night. Meanwhile, Air Traffic Control halted the landing of seven incoming flights and diverted them due to security concerns.
Regarding the incident, a police official from the Rajasansi police station stated that the police conducted an on-site investigation immediately after receiving reports of the drone movement. The investigation revealed that the drone spotted near the airport was being flown by an individual to record a video during a sports tournament held in a nearby village. The official noted that the district administration has imposed a complete ban on flying drones within an 8-kilometer radius of the airport for security reasons. Despite this, the fact that a drone was flown during the tournament has raised several questions, and strict action is being taken in the matter.
