The father of famous Punjabi singer and film artist Ammy Virk has dismissed reports of a shooting at the singer’s car in Canada as fake.
Kuljit Singh, the Sarpanch of Loharmajra village in Nabha Tehsil, stated during a phone conversation with journalists that the alleged shooting at Ammy Virk’s vehicle is merely a rumor.
He mentioned that he had spoken to Ammy Virk just this morning and that the singer is safe and doing well at his home in Toronto, Canada. He also noted that while shootings are not uncommon in Canada, no such incident took place involving Ammy Virk’s vehicle.
Ammy Virk had a show in Canada on September 5, and he has been safe at home ever since.
Reports of the shooting in Canada
News had circulated that the convoy of Ammy Virk—a popular singer and actor in the Punjabi music and film industry—had come under fire in Abbotsford, Canada.
In the incident, which occurred on McCallum Road following the ‘Unity Tour’ event on the night of September 5, attackers reportedly fired about seven rounds at a luxury vehicle within the convoy. Ammy Virk and the other occupants had a narrow escape as the vehicle was bulletproof.
