In view of the religious significance of the *Prakash Parv* (auspicious occasion of the installation) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Punjab Government has declared a local holiday in the Sri Amritsar Sahib district for Saturday, September 12. Orders regarding this have been issued by Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha.
According to the issued orders, all government educational institutions located in the Sri Amritsar Sahib district will remain closed on September 12. Additionally, instructions have been issued to keep government offices, as well as government boards and corporations, closed.
The government has taken this decision keeping in mind the religious importance of the *Prakash Parv* of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The local holiday will apply to government institutions operating within the district. The order issued by the Punjab Government directs the concerned departments and institutions to ensure compliance with these instructions. Consequently, government schools, other government educational institutions, government offices, and the offices of boards and corporations in the district will not function as usual on Saturday.
Following this announcement, a large number of people are expected to participate in the religious events being organized in the Amritsar district to mark the *Prakash Parv*.
