During periodic search operations conducted by the jail administration at Ferozepur Central Jail, nine mobile phones, narcotic capsules, and a data cable were recovered.
Sub-Inspector Sukhdev Singh of the Ferozepur City Police Station stated that, based on a written report submitted by jail officials regarding these recoveries, a case has been registered against 10 undertrial prisoners under the Punjab Prisons and Correctional Services Act.
He informed that the Superintendent of Ferozepur Central Jail reported the recovery of six touchscreen mobile phones, three keypad mobile phones, seven red narcotic capsules, and one white data cable from the following undertrial prisoners: Sandeep Singh, Akash (alias Chhotu), Gurdeep Singh, Karan Kumar, Sumit, Arun (alias Sarabjit Singh), Deepak (alias Deepa), Bhavnesh (son of Harmesh, resident of Jammu), Deepak (resident of Gurdaspur), and Rajiv Kumar. Sub-Inspector Sukhdev Singh added that further action is being taken against the named undertrial prisoners.
