In the Mahan Singh Gate area of Amritsar, five people lost consciousness after a generator was operated inside a closed room where they were eating; they were immediately rushed to the hospital. Joginder Singh (55) died during treatment, while the other four are currently undergoing medical care.
The individuals hospitalized have been identified as Hira Lal, Sukhdev, Ashish Deep, and Jagjit. According to the police, the incident occurred on Monday evening in a closed room on the third floor of a lottery shop. A generator was kept in the room, and the five men were having a meal there. Their condition deteriorated due to the fumes or gas emitted by the generator, causing them all to lose consciousness.
Upon receiving the information, police from the B-Division station arrived at the scene and had everyone admitted to the hospital. According to ASI Sharanjit Singh, the police are investigating the type of gas emitted by the generator and the circumstances under which the incident occurred.
