Chandigarh: Sharp drop in gold and silver prices; check the full rate list for all carats

Gold and silver prices softened in Chandigarh’s bullion market on Tuesday. According to local jeweler Rajiv Sahdev, the price of 24-carat gold fell by ₹1,300 per 10 grams, settling at ₹1,55,900. Silver also saw a decline, dropping by ₹4 per 10 grams to reach ₹237.

Gold prices have been fluctuating continuously since hitting a record high of ₹1.62 lakh on August 28, keeping the market trends under close watch by both ordinary customers and investors.

How much did the price of 22-carat to 14-carat gold fall?
Similarly, the price of 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,43,400 per 10 grams on Tuesday, down from ₹1,44,600 on Monday. The price of 18-carat gold also dropped by ₹1,000 to ₹1,18,900 per 10 grams. The rate for 14-carat gold was ₹93,900, compared to ₹94,700 the previous day.
Impact of gold price fluctuations on ‘Ginni’
Fluctuations in gold prices also affected the rate of the ‘Ginni’ (gold coin). On Tuesday, the Ginni was priced at ₹1,18,700, whereas it was ₹1,19,700 on Monday. Meanwhile, the price of gold plates was recorded at ₹1,55,500 per 10 grams. Silver also became cheaper.
Along with gold, silver prices also fell on Tuesday. Silver traded at ₹237 per 10 grams, down from ₹241 on Monday.

Thus, silver became cheaper by four rupees. The price of a silver coin stood at ₹2,700, down by ₹100 from Monday’s rate of ₹2,800. Gold prices have witnessed continuous fluctuations over the past few days. On August 28, the price of 24-carat gold was ₹1,62,900 per 10 grams, a figure that has now dropped to ₹1,55,900.
