A case involving a loud explosion has been reported from Chandigarh. According to reports, a bomb-like object was thrown at a liquor shop in the city. Two youths riding an Activa scooter hurled an object—resembling a ‘sutli bomb’ (traditional twine-wrapped firecracker)—towards the shop, triggering a powerful blast. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. It is reported that the object thrown by the youths landed near the feet of customers present inside the shop. Moments later, a loud explosion occurred, causing immediate panic and chaos at the scene.
After carrying out the act, both youths fled the spot. The incident reportedly took place between 6:47 PM and 6:50 PM on September 14. Upon receiving information, the police from the Sector-11 station arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Police are currently examining nearby CCTV footage. It has also come to light that, five days prior to the incident, a woman was seen recording a video outside the liquor shop. The police are searching for this suspicious woman; the reason behind her filming will only be known once she is located. The shop owner has requested the police to investigate whether the woman had visited the site to conduct a recce.
