The Chery Jetour T2 facelift has been launched in China with several updates across both ICE and PHEV versions. In the Chinese market, this updated model will be sold under the name ‘Traveller 7’. Despite the facelift, the existing Traveller model will continue to be sold alongside it.
Design and Updates
The Chery Jetour T2 facelift adopts a more refined design compared to the rugged look of the current model. Updates include new round headlights, replacing the square units found on the outgoing model. The ‘JETOUR’ badge, previously on the grille, has been moved to the bonnet. The grille now features a full-width LED strip connecting the two headlights. Front Bumper and Side Profile: A seamless front bumper replaces the rugged, protruding bumper of the current model. The finish has also been changed from black to body-color. A large air intake is visible, while features like off-road lights and tow hooks have been removed. The side profile remains largely unchanged, with only minor alterations such as body-colored wheel arches. Rear Design and Features: At the rear, the Jetour T2 facelift features 3D-style, four-point taillights. Updates include a new rear spoiler, a refreshed bumper, and smoother D-pillar trim. The rear utility storage box, boot door handle, and rear bumper are now body-colored. Cabin and Dashboard Design
Inside, the Jetour J2 facelift focuses on a clean and modern aesthetic. Its new dashboard features vertical air vents on either side. Additionally, the center console has been updated to include physical controls, such as AC controls and a rotary selector for the seven drive modes.
Features
Customers can also use the ‘X-Mode’ button to engage the XWD all-wheel-drive system. The center console houses a Qi wireless charger and two smartphone holders. Features such as the 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 10.25-inch digital instrument display have been retained from the previous model.
Engine and Performance
The base variant of the Jetour J2 facelift is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine generates 184PS of power and 290Nm of torque and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The base variant is offered with a front-wheel-drive configuration.
All other petrol variants utilize a 2.0-litre engine delivering 254PS of power and 390Nm of torque, and they all come with AWD. The top-end variant now features an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Hybrid Variant and Updates
The Jetour J2 i-DM PHEV facelift retains the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 156PS and 220Nm of torque. However, the 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission has been replaced by a single-speed unit. With these updates, the Jetour J2 PHEV has become more efficient and powerful than before.
Battery and Electric Range
Equipped with a 26.61 kWh LFP battery, its pure electric range has increased to 108 km, up from the previous 100 km. The variant featuring the larger 45.12 kWh battery pack offers a pure electric range of 173 km. The previous model came with a 43.24 kWh battery pack that provided a pure electric range of 162 km.
What is the price?
The ex-showroom price of the petrol model ranges from 149,900 Yuan (approximately ₹21.4 lakh) to 169,900 Yuan (approximately ₹24.2 lakh). Meanwhile, the ex-showroom price of the PHEV model ranges from 159,900 Yuan (approximately ₹22.85 lakh) to 179,900 Yuan (approximately ₹25.71 lakh).
