Chowk Police Station has been awarded the ISO 9001 certificate, making it the first police station in Banaras to achieve this recognition. Police Commissioner Mohit Agrawal described Chowk Police Station as a station he had personally “adopted” and noted that the certification was granted after meeting rigorous international standards regarding operational quality, public satisfaction, facilities for police personnel, public engagement, and crime control.
The Commissioner explained that the ISO is an international body with stringent standards. This achievement was made possible through the hard work of all the officers and personnel at Chowk Police Station. He stated that efforts would now be made to encourage other stations to improve their operational quality, thereby boosting public trust in the police and enabling them to secure this certification as well.
The Commissioner added that this certification is not merely a beginning but an inspiration for other stations to move in the same direction. This achievement by Chowk Police Station will not only boost the morale of the local police force but also serve as an example for the entire district.
To obtain the certification, the station met various criteria, including police training, public interaction, and crime control strategies. The station improved its operational processes and prioritized addressing public grievances to qualify for the award.
The Commissioner remarked that this certification aims to reassure the public that the police stand with them and are committed to their safety. He further noted that Chowk Police Station has now become a “model station” that can serve as an example for others.
Following this achievement, the Police Commissioner congratulated all the police personnel, attributing the success to their hard work and dedication. He also stated that other police stations would be encouraged to follow suit in the future.
