It is not just the general public who are frustrated with the working style of the Municipal Council officials; BJP MLA Laxman Singh Yadav is also deeply dissatisfied.
Local residents approached the MLA to complain about the poor quality and improper leveling of a road being constructed near his residence in Sector 4, at a cost of approximately ₹1.5 crore.
In response, Laxman Singh Yadav directed DMC Pradeep Ahlawat and other Municipal Council officials to take corrective action—but to no avail.
“People came to me with complaints…”
When residents of Sector 4 returned with further complaints, MLA Laxman Singh Yadav stated, “People came to me with grievances. I instructed the DMC and other officials to ensure the road is constructed properly.”
He expressed his dismay, noting that the road is already deteriorating before it has even been fully completed and opened for use. He remarked that despite repeated reminders, the officials seem indifferent—either failing to focus on the issue or simply choosing not to address it. He further suggested that they might be enjoying the “blessings” (patronage) of some influential figure—though he did not specify who might be providing such protection.
Third Construction in Two Years
This particular stretch—running from the Gymkhana Club in Sector 4, past the DPC office, and toward the main road of the sector—has already been constructed twice in the last two years. On both previous occasions, the road surface disintegrated, and any “repairs” carried out were merely superficial. Following persistent complaints from local residents, a new CC (cement concrete) road has been under construction for the past two months, at a cost of approximately ₹1.5 crore. MLA Laxman Singh Yadav’s own residence is located near this road.
Recently, local residents once again raised concerns regarding the quality of construction materials and the improper leveling of the road, bringing the matter to the attention of MLA Laxman Singh Yadav. In response, the MLA urged the concerned officials to ensure the work is executed correctly and to take action against the contractor. According to local residents, neither has the road level been set correctly, nor are the construction materials being applied properly; as a result, water is accumulating on the road, and in some places, the road aggregate has already started coming loose.
