Punjab BJP chief met Union Minister Khattar: Discussion on farmer movement and organizational issues, meeting before CM Saini

Date:

Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar may not be active in state politics for a long time, but these days he is constantly meeting central leaders in Delhi. In this episode, he has now met Union Minister and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar.

Organizational issues were discussed in this meeting. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar himself has given information about this by posting on his social media account. He has also shared a photo regarding the meeting.

What is the meaning of these meetings

Earlier, Sunil Jakhar had met Haryana CM Nayab Saini. After this, he also met Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Singh. This information was not shared by him but by both the leaders.

In such a situation, many meanings of these meetings are being derived. So one is the discussion that the farmers’ movement is being discussed. Along with this, he has told the central ministers that there should be a discussion on this issue. Secondly, the Union Budget will also come in the coming time. Strategy is being made regarding this. Because now two months are left for the assembly elections in Punjab.

Distance from state politics since Lok Sabha elections

After the results of the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, Sunil Jakhar had distanced himself from Punjab BJP. Because the party’s vote percentage reached 18 percent in the elections. But the party could not win a single seat. After this, he even sent his resignation to Amit Shah. No decision has been taken on his resignation yet. However, after this, he has also stayed away from the Panchayat elections and civic elections held in the state.

Left Congress after not being made CM, joined BJP in 2022

Sunil Jakhar resigned from Congress on 14 May 2022. After this, he joined BJP on 19 May. He was made to join the party by BJP President JP Nadda in Delhi. Jakhar was in Congress for a long time before this. However, in the year 2021, when Congress removed Captain Amarinder Singh from the CM chair in Punjab, Jakhar’s name was in the race for CM.

However, later Jakhar himself had alleged that Ambika Soni opposed him because he was a Hindu. Soni said that Punjab is a Sikh state, so there should be a Sikh CM, after which Charanjit Channi was made the CM. Since then, Jakhar remained angry and then separated from the Congress.
