When was the country’s constitution implemented
India, which was bound by the shackles of slavery for many years, got independence on 15 August 1947 after a long battle. After independence, now a democracy was needed to run this country and for this, the Constitution of India was prepared after a long deliberation on 26 November 1949. Exactly two months later, i.e. on 26 January 1950, it was implemented in the whole country and Republic Day is celebrated every year in memory of this day.
