A memorandum was given to SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti under the leadership of Dalit leader Yash Barna demanding that an FIR be registered against the accused in Phagwara as well. On this occasion, DSP Bharat Bhushan, SHO City Amandeep Nahar, Traffic Incharge Aman Kumar Deveshwar were also with them.
On Monday morning, Congressmen in Amritsar washed the statue of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and the Constitution and offered flowers.
BJP reacted
On this issue, BJP MP Sambit Patra said that on the 76th anniversary of Republic Day, the statue of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar was vandalized in Amritsar under the AAP government in Punjab. There a person climbed on top of the statue and vandalized it. When this incident was happening, neither the police nor the administration took any steps to stop it. Since it happened in front of a police station, it is a law and order issue. This is not the first time that Arvind Kejriwal and AAP have insulted Dalits. Arvind Kejriwal should go to Punjab and apologize in front of this statue. He should also resign from his post in the party. BJP challenges him to do so.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that such a heinous act cannot happen without the consent of Arvind Kejriwal. He has insulted Dalits and the whole of India. Bhagwant Mann should resign and all of them should apologize immediately.
