After Patwaris and brokers, Haryana government has now prepared a list of corrupt Tehsildars. It includes the names of 47 Tehsildars. The input received by the government from the intelligence department states that these Tehsildars have done the registrations in a wrong manner. Especially, they ignored Section 7-A. Then they registered the property by taking money.
The government also suspects that they have more property than their income. After the list of Patwaris and brokers was leaked, the government has kept it completely secret. However, the names have been sent to the Deputy Commissioners of the districts of their posting and a report has been summoned. A top source associated with the Revenue Ministry has confirmed this.
Notices were given earlier also, but no action was taken
The matter of registrations without NOC in violation of Rule 7A had come to the government earlier also. Then notices were issued to Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and Patwaris. Then they were asked for clarification. But, after this no action was taken in this matter. Then it was believed that due to pressure and high reach, the government had to come on the back foot.
The government is also connecting the wires with the registry scam
According to the top sources of the Revenue Department, intelligence inputs are also linking it with the registry scam. This scam took place in July 2020 during the Corona period. Then the government had constituted a Special Investigation Committee (SEC).
In their report, 232 revenue officers including kanungos, auditors, registry clerks and patwaris, besides 34 tehsildars and naib tehsildars, were blamed for manipulating the revenue records for the convenience of land mafia or real estate agents.
First came the list of 370 corrupt patwaris
Recently a list of the government came out. In which 370 patwaris posted in the state were described as corrupt. It was also told in this that which patwari of which district takes how much bribe for which work. Apart from this, there were 170 patwaris who had kept personal assistants. Some Patwaris were running offices at their homes or private places. However, Patwaris are opposing this.
The second list of 404 brokers came out
After Patwaris, a list of 404 brokers came out. The government said that all these brokers are active in Tehsil and Patwari offices. Inputs were also received about revenue employees doing brokerage in some offices. These brokers are taking money in exchange for getting work done in the name of Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar. The government had said that CCTV cameras should be installed to prevent the entry of brokers.
In this report, 370 Patwaris of the state have been declared corrupt. The government claims that these Patwaris are doing corruption in exchange for measurement, transfer, correcting records and getting the map passed
