Failed 6 times
Out of the 16 launches so far, this rocket has failed 6 times, which is a huge failure rate of 37 percent. In comparison, India’s latest launch vehicle Mark-3, also known as the ‘Bahubali’ rocket, has a success rate of 100 percent.
This is also a rocket from the same family where India showed its prowess in mastering cryogenic engines, a technology that took the country two decades to master, as Russia refused to transfer its technology to India under pressure from the United States.
100th mission launched from Sriharikota
GSLV-F15 is the 17th flight of GSLV and the 11th flight with indigenous cryo stage. It was the eighth operational flight of GSLV with indigenous cryogenic stage and the 100th launch from Spaceport Sriharikota.
