The Punjab government is now in action mode against drugs. Bulldozer action is going on on the properties of drug smugglers. At the same time, today (28 February) CM Bhagwant Mann will hold a meeting with the DC and SSP of all the districts. The meeting will be held at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh.
Where a strategy will be made regarding the ongoing fight against drugs. This meeting is considered very important. Because just a few days ago new SSP and DC have been appointed in some districts.
Earlier the CM had said that criminals or gangsters should not go from one chowk to another after committing a crime. After this, there are continuous encounters between gangsters and the police. Also, the accused are being caught continuously.
Earlier on Thursday, a high power committee of five ministers was constituted by the government to monitor the ongoing action against drug smugglers. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has been made the chairman of this committee. While four other ministers have been made members of the committee.
Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Aman Arora, Balbir Singh, Laljit Singh Bhullar and Taranpreet Sondh are the members of the committee. This committee will work at the grassroots level. It will go among the people at the village level. It will talk to them. It will also see whether the government’s campaign is going on properly or not. The committee will give its report to CM Bhagwant Mann.
Bulldozer runs on the houses of three female drug smugglers
The government is taking bulldozer action against drug smugglers on the lines of UP. On February 27, the two-storey house of a female drug smuggler named Rinki was demolished in Patiala. After this, action was taken against a female drug smuggler named Asha in Rupnagar and also against a drug smuggler in Ludhiana.
While on February 25, bulldozer action was taken in Punjab by demolishing the house of a drug smuggler in Himmatnagar, Ludhiana. The government hopes that this action will create fear in the smugglers. Also, they will refrain from such actions. At the same time, the image of the government will improve among the people.
